FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: General Kinematics Celebrates the Grand Opening of their 42,000 sq/ft Manufacturing Facility Expansion
October 25, 2023: General Kinematics, a vibratory equipment manufacturer and system integrator located in Crystal Lake, Illinois, celebrated the completion of a 42,000-square-foot expansion of their primary manufacturing space. The new area includes high bay ceilings for 80-ton cranes, additional space for capital equipment, and storage. Including the new addition, General Kinematics’ facility now spans 262,000 square feet.
Following several years of growth, including acquiring three companies (Cyrus Vibrating Equipment, Tuffman Equipment, and Foundry Equipment Company (FECo)) and launching a systems-focused brand, General Kinematics continues to expand and improve support for their markets.
The expansion of General Kinematics’ manufacturing facility marks a significant turning point in their growth as a company. It will allow General Kinematics to continue exceeding customer demands for larger-scale equipment. There has been a significant increase in customer demand for the integrated services provided by GK Systems and General Kinematics’ OEM equipment within the foundry, recycling, mining, and aggregate sectors.
With several customer orders for GK Systems already in development, the company has hired 15 new employees, most of whom will work in the new facility expansion. They plan to hire additional employees over time to continue meeting and exceeding demands for turnkey systems.
General Kinematics hosted a celebration with local customers and employees who have contributed to their growth to celebrate this momentous achievement. Live music, customer tours of the manufacturing facility, and a speech from CEO Tom Musschoot are some ways GK showed their appreciation during the event.
“When my grandfather founded General Kinematics, it started as a small company in the Midwest. Over the last sixty years, we’ve grown to almost 300 employees with locations around the world. I want to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has contributed to our success over the past sixty years. Without each and every one of you, none of this would have been possible.”
-General Kinematics’ CEO, Tom Musschoot
