Rotary Media Drums
The General Kinematics DUCTA-CLEAN® Rotary Media Drum was designed to provide cleaner castings, improve sand removal, and reduce downtime from maintenance. The DUCTA-CLEAN® media scrubs castings, removing sand while separating sprue and gates from castings.
GK’s rotary drums use innovative rotary drum liner designs that offer increased open area over other liner technology, allowing more efficient separation of sand from castings. Manufactured with abrasion-resistant steel, forged drive components, and premium transmission components, GK’s DUCTA-CLEAN® media drums are FOUNDRY-RATED™ to last longer than competing rotary media drums. After switching to DUCTA-CLEAN®, customers have reported reduced downtime, and easier liner change out thanks to GK’s LOCK-TITE® liner system.
Operation
DUCTA-CLEAN® Rotary Media drums are easy to install and integrate well with other parts of your foundry. The drum media scrubs castings removing sand while separating sprue and gates from castings. Media, tramp metal, and sand pass through the perforated liner panels and are then screened. Finally, media is returned to drum using GK’s ROTOVEYOR™ technology.
Standard and Custom Sizes
General Kinematics offered standard and custom-sized DUCTA-CLEAN® Rotary Media Drums. Units include GK’s easy-to-replace LOCK-TITE™ wear-resistant liner system, which is designed to lift and tumble material while screening loose fines. The drum tires are forged steel, supported on forged trunnion rollers. Thrust rollers and standard drive equipment are included with all models.
